The Martial arts style we practice is Aam-Ka-Jutsu. The first Mixed Martial art
in the United States, Founded in 1968. This martial art is composed of the
techniques we feel fit best in effective self defense from such martial arts
forms as Karate, Judo, Jujutsu, Aikido, Arnis, Kung Fu, TaeKwonDo, and Weapons.
The Self Improvement aspects of our program come from BuKaraDo; a system we

Inside the Rain Forest at Fresno Chaffee Zoo is our newest walk-through attraction, Tropical Treasures, which features many free-ranging amphibians, reptiles, birds and our two-toed sloth. Visitors will have the opportunity to step inside this simulated Central/South American rain forest and embark on a "treasure hunt" for brightly-colored frogs, birds and reptiles among the lush greenery native to Central and South America. Harper Kajukenbo was started in Visalia California in 1989 by Sifu Harper with the blessing of Sijo Emperado and Professor Larry Gumataotao
in 1994 after the passing of his teacher Grandmaster Gumataotao, sifu Harper moved to San Diego Ca.
at that time Sijo A.D. Emperado selected Sifu Harper as his personal body guard and placed him directly under him.
Sijo would often say when watching Sifu Harper train that he was like a pit bull,
so after hearing Sijo refer many times to Sifu Harper as a Kajukenbo pit bull it was decided in 1995 to change the name of the school from Harper Kajukenbo to Harper's Kajupit. (less) ... (more)
